The goal of the Links to Learning event(s) is to deliver a dynamic technical training forum for First Nation Economic Development Officers and Land Managers to enhance their ability to undertake successful lands and economic development ventures.
The CANDO Links to Learning event(s) focus on knowledge sharing and skills enhancement among practitioners at the community level. This forum delivers a series of workshops, led by experts in a range of economic and land development related disciplines, and offer opportunities for dialogue and networking.
On September 20, 2017, Wayne Garnons-Williams, on behalf of IITIO, attended the Edmonton CANDO‑Alberta “Links to Learning” session for Canadian Indigenous Economic Development Officers and presented on NAFTA, the Indigenous Chapter and International Inter-tribal Trade with CANDO Executive Director, Ray Wanuch.
September 26‑28, 2017, Wayne Garnons-Williams on behalf of IITIO, attended the Saskatoon CANDO‑Saskatchewan “Links to Learning” session for Canadian Indigenous Economic Development Officers and presented on NAFTA, the Indigenous Chapter and International Inter-tribal Trade with CANDO President, Keith Matthew.
On October 24, 2017, Wayne Garnons-Williams on behalf of IITIO, attended the CANDO Annual General Conference for Canadian Indigenous Economic Development Officers in Fredericton, New Brunswick, where he presented on NAFTA, the Indigenous Chapter and International Inter-tribal Trade, and introduced CANDO attendees to tribal trade and investment opportunities with the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, Chickasaw Nation Industries, and Choctaw Nation.
On December 12, 2017, Wayne Garnons-Williams on behalf of IITIO, attended in Vancouver, British Columbia the CANDO – BC “Links to Learning” session for Canadian Indigenous Economic Development Officers and presented on NAFTA, the Indigenous Chapter and International Inter-tribal Trade with Jennifer Hooper, Manager, Aboriginal Business, Ministry of International Trade.
